[who did it] CD Publications, January, 2000.
[chance of gettin'] Not too difficult to
find.
[the skinny] Limited-edition hardcover.
1000 signed copies were printed, plus 52 deluxe tray-cased copies
with a stunning color illustration by Erik Wilson as the frontice
piece. Another of Lees book-length delvings out of the horror
genre. Originally a screenplay, THE STICKMEN is a high-tech,
breakneck conspiracy thriller that focuses on a reported UFO crash
near Nellis Air Force Base in April;, 1962. Obviously, Roswell
marks the most famous of the so-called crash sites,
Lee states, and its the one that has the most people
believing it credible. To UFO-philes, the Nellis crash is probably
the second-most credible. Lee creates a rag-tag character,
Harlan Garretta down-on-his-luck tabloid writerto
re-open the Nellis Case in grand style. X-FILES lovers
will enjoy Lees brand of dead-alien intrigue. PUBLISHERS
WEEKLY called THE STICKMEN, exhilarating, a hyperventilating
adventure, and like DAHMERS NOT DEAD and OPERATOR
B, this book is evidence that Lee can excel beyond
the horror genre when he wants to. Several outlines exist that
continue the Garrett character, but Lee doubts that he will ever
have time to write them. Its no secret that Lees a
conspiracy buff, but does he actually believe that
UFOs exist? After three or four beerssure!
